The airport you will have for your final destination is Deer Lake Airport in the small town of Deer Lake, Newfoundland, Canada. For those of you who are: flying a private plane, booking airfares on the internet, or through your travel agent, the airport identifier is C-YDF. Guests who have a float plane or amphibious plane can make arrangements in advance for landing/docking at or near the lodges.

US citizens flying and those from the EU require a Visa or Passport. The airlines have to give you 55 minutes to clear customs; though this usually takes 10 minutes. You will likely clear customs as soon as you land on Canadian soil. This will likely be at one of three locations: Halifax, Nova Scotia; Montreal, Quebec; or Toronto, Ontario. Your final destination will be Deer Lake Airport in Deer Lake, Newfoundland, Canada. We will greet you at the airport when you arrive and drive you to the lodge.

Drive

Clients from North America can drive to the Island of Newfoundland. This requires a ride on the Marine Atlantic Ferry (largest ferry in North America) salmon fishing newfoundlandfrom the town of North Sydney in the province of Nova Scotia across the cabot straight for 97 nautical miles to the town of Port Aux Basque, Newfoundland and then a 3 hour drive to our main lodge in Steady Brook, Newfoundland. The ferry crossing takes 6 hours and is best scheduled as a night crossing. Please make your reservations for the ferry crossing as soon as possible as the summer and fall schedule are commonly full 2 months or more in advance.
